Brooklyn Public Library
The book talk begins with a virtual journey to Pakistan and Lahore. Three hundred children have been invited to discuss the book, ask questions and to find out how the pictures have been created. Collage is a technique that easily inspires children to try by themselves.
How does one become an illustrator? How did I do research? Many children have already been flying a kite; some even know how to build one. But why do children in Pakistan climb on their roof to do so?
After the talk, many are ready to write their own book.

Greenlight Bookstore, Brooklyn
Every Sunday morning there is an author- or illustrator-talk at Greenlight Bookstore, one of the best independent book stores in Brooklyn.
In a casual environment like this it is easy to engage children in deeper conversations,  get their feed back about the art and even show them first hand some of the original sketches that led to the final pieces.

Kenya
Children in Kenya take a look at the pictures of the book "God the Parent's Blessings" in a mission center of Tenri.
I wish I could have been there with them!
